DRAWINGS FOR SALE

MATERIALS

All drawings are drawn on archival

quality alkaline paper.

Archival paper has a basic pH and is

lignin and sulfur free. Paper made from wood-based pulp that has not had its lignin removed turns yellow and deteriorates over time when exposed to light or heat.

Alkaline paper has a life expectancy of over 1000 years. There are fewer corrosive chemicals used in making alkaline paper. Waste water and by products in the production can be recycled and alkaline paper, itself, is

readily recyclable.

INSTRUMENTS

All drawings are drawn with Waterman fountain pens from the early 1900s.

The Waterman Pen Company was established in 1884 in New York City by Lewis Edson Waterman.

Early Waterman pens were made of hard rubber and were furnished with 14K gold nibs. These early nibs are prized for their smoothness and flexibility.

It is this characteristic of the early Waterman nibs that allows for an expressive and delicate line.
